Why We Built This Site
Kalamazoo County uses a countywide 8th District Court, a 9th Circuit Court, and Probate Court, while public online access and clerk procedures differ across those courts. MiCOURT can provide a public case history when a case is available, but Circuit records can require a terminal or direct clerk contact and Probate has a separate index. The purpose here is to make those distinctions plain and direct readers to the official court, clerk, or search route that holds the requested record.
What You Will Find Here
Content covers the county's documented public search channels, how court settings are confirmed, which docket follows a District felony into Circuit Court, and how a known file can be requested. The record pages identify the 8th District copy-request process, the Circuit and Probate fallbacks, and Michigan court-record rules. The city pages also explain why Kalamazoo, Portage, Galesburg, and Parchment searches generally begin with the countywide District Court instead of an assumed municipal portal.
What We Cannot Do
This is a private reference resource, not a Kalamazoo County court, clerk office, or Michigan state agency. It cannot search an official system for a reader, alter a setting, remove a case, issue a certified copy, or provide legal advice. The clerk or the court that maintains a record is the only source for an official or certified court document. Court dates, case status, and access classifications should always be verified with that custodian.
Official documents come from the court or clerk that keeps the case file. A public search result is useful for locating a record, but it is not a certified copy.
Search Partners
Some pages include a third-party sponsored search widget. Its provider operates separately from this resource and from the courts. Official Kalamazoo docket research should begin with the county's court links, MiCOURT, the Probate Index, or the court clerk. The footer and disclaimer explain the limits that apply to any information shown through a third-party tool.
